Let's Get Organized!
Do you know how hard it is for us writers to get organized.? You probably do. I’m just beginning to.
I now have first draft memoirs and pieces ranging from reviews, to essays to articles to short memoir.
I have marketing files. I have editing files. I have first drafts, second drafts, to be revised, and to be submitted.
During my work week, I try to read publications I want to submit to. I read book length memoirs. I do research.
Of course, I have to deal with social media and communications. In addition, I have to keep updating my website.
Then there’s the tedious task of cleaning up computer files, paper files, scraps of paper notes I have strewn all over my work area.
Then there’s writing, if there is ever time. My writing is suffering. My creative process is choking. I’m going a little bit crazy.
How does one get organized? The word FOCUS comes to mind. The word SCHEDULE. Maybe the word STICK TO IT sounds right. DISCIPLINE - that dirty word.
So here goes. I’m going to get organized. Stay tuned because as I try to figure it out, I will share with you what seems to work.
