Reenacting the Wagon Trains West
America's Birthday - 200 years - Bicentennial Wagon Train Ride - New York
Kaye and John Curren on Se-Se and Jur-Raja 1976
I shared “Eastward Ho” last July for the fortieth anniversary of the bicentennial wagon train across America – part of our 200th birthday. The story rings true this year as well. Two people struggling with their lives in New York City- unbeareable traffic, lost jobs, unfamiliar land and people. Their horseback ride for the national’s birthday gave them the perspective they needed to carry on in a difficult time. If the pioneers could survive, so could they.
